The expanded Expedition 51 crew soon will conduct new science investigations arriving on Orbital ATK seventh NASA contracted commercial resupply mission Saturday, April 22. Beginning his third year as conductor of the Lone Star Youth Orchestra, Kevin Pearce brings a unique combination of a world class musical background and an unending commitment to education. Pearce recently completed coursework for his Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting at the University of North Texas, in the studio of David Itkin. Prior to his move to North Texas, he served from 2008 2013 as the inaugural Director of Orchestras at Cypress Lakes High School in the western suburbs of Houston.

Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management with a Business Administration minor from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. As the Vol Reporter and production assistant for VFL Films, she completed her Master of Science in Sport Management at UT Knoxville. In addition, Mitchell has a heart for community service, including volunteering 300 plus hours with Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals.
